the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2003, up from $901 million the year before. Also, IBOs generated an
additional $58.3 million in revenues for Quixtar’s Partner Stores in fiscal 2003. Since the company's launch,
IBOs have generated revenues of more than $3.1 billion for Quixtar and more than $250 million for Partner
Stores.
Business Model
Using Quixtar’s proven Independent Business Ownership Plan, IBOs earn
income based on business volume resulting from their efforts. In addition to
sales, IBOs register new IBOs, Members, and Clients at www.quixtar.com.
Quixtar does not generate site traffic through advertising, instead rewarding IBOs
who provide the "high-touch" element complementing Quixtar's "high-tech"
infrastructure. IBOs earned $343 million in bonuses and incentives in fiscal
2003, bringing their four-year total to more than $998 million.

IBOs, Members, and Clients
Quixtar features three basic levels of involvement – IBOs, Members, and Clients.
IBOs build businesses that allow them to earn income based on sales made at www.quixtar.com resulting from their efforts. To launch a Quixtar-powered business, individuals must register with an existing IBO.
Members are essentially preferred customers who pay an annual membership fee to obtain products at membership prices and earn Q-CREDITSSM Points when purchasing from Partner Stores, which can be redeemed for a variety of gifts.
Clients pay no fee to shop from a large selection of products and learn from expert advice on health, beauty, home care, and other topics. Products are shipped to their homes and covered by Quixtar's Customer Satisfaction Guarantee. Members and Clients must register with the identification number of their servicing IBO. If a new registrant does not have a servicing IBO, Quixtar will assign them one.

INDEPENDENT BUSINESS OWNERS GENERATE RECORD $1 BILLION IN SALES FOR QUIXTAR
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 23, 2003 – Quixtar Inc. reported that Independent Business Owners (IBOs) powered by the company's I-commerce business model generated sales of $1.035 billion for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2003. Quixtar's fiscal 2003 sales confirm the company's status as the leading online health and beauty retailer and one of the top consumer e-commerce companies based on revenues. Sales increases can be attributed to strong performance of Quixtar's exclusive health products, including introductions of the eSpring® Water Purifier and XS™ Energy Drink.
Revenues generated for Quixtar by IBOs were up $134 million from the previous fiscal year, and those for nearly 100 Partner Stores affiliated with Quixtar increased by $1.3 million. This resulted in an increase in IBO bonus and incentive payouts of $61 million over the previous year. Since the company's launch in 1999, IBOs have generated more than $3.1 billion in sales for Quixtar, plus more than $250 million for Partner Stores, ranging from CatalogCity.com and KBtoys.com to OfficeMax.com and NASCAR.com.
